Emily Kanitz

Emily grew up in Traverse City and spent 13 years working for a large multinational corporation in West Michigan. After moving back north in 2020, she spent a year as a volunteer with 5Loaves2Fish. She then decided to leave corporate life and become Operations Director for the organization. After two years she transitioned into a volunteer role as Director of Finance.

“I continue to be in awe of the way 5Loaves2Fish facilitates community connections and the incredible people making it possible,” she says. She is inspired by the mission: how  providing nourishing food can offer community guests a moment of respite and normalcy.

Emily lives in Suttons Bay with her husband, young son, and a yellow lab.
